16-Bit TANGO Drum Scanning

Great Basin Color offers drumm scanning of up to 16-bits captured at scan time via our TANGO drum scanner and NewColor 7000 software.

We can scan positive and negative film as well as thin, flexible reflective media up to 17''x16''.

To ensure accurate color capture, regular calibration and profiling is part of our workflow.

Our pricing is based on megabytes captured at scan time.

All images are delivered as RGB TIFF's in the "BestRGB" color space unless otherwise requested.
For those of you looking to "archive" your film, (scan once and put the film in deep storage), we have included an estimated "archival" megabyte chart for most film formats.

All transparencies are mounted and scanned using specialized KAMI scanning fluids, not oils. And are cleaned, if necessary with PEC-12 film cleaning fluid pre scan.

RGB Scanning

Great Basin Color scans all color transparecies in the RGB color mode. We believe it to be a superior way to scan film as you can represent a much broader gamut of color vs. the CMYK color mode. Several experts in the field of color management and image scanning have adopted this school of thought and it has become mainsteream in the fine art printing world.
